SQL Anywhere offers enterprise caliber databases that scale from 64-bit servers with thousands of users down to small handheld devices. SQL Anywhere's data exchange technologies extend information in corporate applications and enterprise systems to databases running in mission-critical frontline environments. Design and management tools within SQL Anywhere enable developers to implement and deploy frontline applications and equip administrators to easily manage and support them.

SQL Anywhere Server Base Packages are prerequisite to the Additional Deployment Licenses and Options. Base packages provide the SQL Anywhere software and licensing for the SQL Anywhere multi-user Server, one or more client (Networked Seat) license and licensing for other components. Note the components licensed vary between base packages (see the chart under Important Information). Not all components are available on all platforms. See System Requirements for more details. SQL Anywhere Options require the purchase (or prior purchase) of at least one copy of a SQL Anywhere OR SQL Anywhere Server - CPU Model. The SQL Anywhere Options include:

• ECC Encryption Security Option: contains the algorithms for ECC certificate-based TLS for the MobiLink synchronization stream and ASA client server communication stream.
• High Availability Option: provides “out of the box” hot failover capability. It allows customers to use either database mirroring or cluster support, which includes a Veritas Cluster Server (VCS) agent. • MobiLink High Availability Option: provides “out of the box” support for clustering MobiLink Servers.
• Replication Agent for Adaptive Server Anywhere (ASA): provides replication between Adaptive Server Anywhere and Adaptive Server Enterprise through Replication Server. It works as a replication agent with Adaptive Server Anywhere.
• RSA Encryption Security Option: contains the algorithms for RSA certificate-based TLS for the MobiLink synchronization stream and ASA client server communication stream.
• RSA FIPS Encryption Security Option: contains the algorithms for RSA certificate-based TLS using FIPS-approved AES for the MobiLink synchronization stream and ASA client server communication stream. It also contains Certicom’s FIPS-approved version of AES for ASA database file encryption (Note: UltraLite encryption using this algorithm is not supported).
